About

Fueled by passion and curiosity, Kelsey tells stories of connection, responsibility, and action in the age of the Anthropocene

Kelsey Timmerman is the New York Times bestselling author of Regnerating Earth, Where Am I Wearing?, Where Am I Eating?, and Where Am I Giving? Through immersive reporting, humor, and storytelling, Kelsey puts faces to global challenges like poverty, modern-day slavery, and the garment, food, and philanthropy industries.

Having reported from more than 60 countries, Kelsey explores how the way we live, eat, and shop shapes our planet. A champion of global thinking and local action, he illuminates the joy, abundance, and potential of Earth, encouraging readers to imagine—and work toward—a better future. To that end, he is the cofounder of The Facing Project, a national storytelling nonprofit that uses first-person narratives to inspire empathy and change in communities across the U.S.

He has spent the night in Castle Dracula in Romania, herded cattle in lion-country in Kenya, played PlayStation in Kosovo, farmed on four continents, taught an island village to play baseball in Honduras, and in another life, worked as a SCUBA instructor in Key West, Florida.

Kelsey teaches at Ball State Universities Honors College and lives in rural Indiana with his wife, two kids, and a rotating cast of unruly farm animals.
